Was in the ER for chest pain in shortness of breath they couldnt located a vein in arms so the did a groin stick. Whats the risk of that or side effct?

The groin has a large vein that could be used to draw blood, but right next to it is a large artery (probably the femoral artery).
If that is stuck by mistake, it can cause a lot of bleeding, which can be dangerous. The bleeding, sometimes, cannot be detected because of the location. So, i tend to avoid the groin if i can help it.
