Hi. My 11yr old daughter has bern on 50 mg og zoloft (sertraline) for about a year now. Is it possible it csn be causing her stomach pain/discomfort after being on?

Possible but... Partly because serotonin is found in the GI system, a very common side effect of antidepressants is abdominal pain and dyspepsia. However, at age 11 (at least in my practice) there's often more going on in their lives than kids want to admit to parents. Maybe some cognitive therapy might be helpful. Hope that helps! Been taking Zoloft (sertraline) for almost a year however I forgot to take it the last 4 days and I just took it, is this bad. 25 mil.?

Should be ok. I would not imagine that returning to a dose of zoloft (sertraline) 25mg after being off for 4 days to be a problem. It is a low dose and it should not be a problem to return. If major concerns or difficulties, may always start at 12.5mg x 1-2 weeks, then 25 but this is a very conservative approach that is not likely needed. Read more...
Abrupt stop not good. Zoloft (sertraline) is one of the drugs that require a slow taper when you want to stop taking it. (decrease dosage a little at a time over days or weeks, depending on dose). You may have experienced some side effects from stopping it suddenly. 25 mg. is a low dose, so perhaps it was not serious. If you desire to continue the drug, just resume your usual dosing schedule. Check with your doctor to be sure! Read more...
