In brief: Root canal therapy

is a endodontic treatment to repair and save a damaged or infected tooth instead of extraction.
The procedure to replace infected root canal (nerve) with an artificial material. Extraction is when the whole tooth and root is removed.

Both treatments will get you out of pain. While most dentists will recommend trying to save the tooth if at all possible with a root canal some patients simply cannot afford the treatment. Check with your dentist to see what the best solution is for your particular situation.

In brief: Huge difference

The root canal will save your tooth.
If you extract it this can effect your other teeth. The tee th next to the missing tooth can move or shiftcausingachange inyourvite and perhaps comfort to chew. It may plead to future tooth loss. So if you choose extraction think about replacement, possibility with an implant. Please talk to your dentist before you make you decision.
