How common is gastritis or stomach inflammation in young patients (early 20's)?

Not uncommon. Certain things might make gastritis more common in a 20 year old, including alcohol use / abuse and use or over use of anti-inflammatory drugs (ibuprofen, naproxyn, etc...) some times an infection is to blame. Other times genetics play a role. A doctor can help identify why gastritis is there and begin to treat it.
