My wife has pink eye. I have a fresh (not expired) tube of erythromycin ophthalmic ointment. Can she apply? If so, please advise on usage/dosage.
4x day. If you are sure the bottle/tip has not been contaminated it can be used 4x day. Ointment does blur the vision so patients are usu prescribed antibiotic drops for bacterial conjunctivitis.
Yes. Provided that she is not allergic to Erythromycin -- you can apply to her eye/s twice or three times a day.
My 9 month old has pink eye and I have a tube of erythromycin ophthalmic ointment, how many times a day, how many days?
2-3 times per day. Try the ointment 2-3 times per day until the redness improves. If not better after 3-4 days, then see a pediatric ophthalmologist.
