In brief: May be
Every woman who conceives will have a cyst on one of her ovaries.
That cyst is a normal part of pregnancy and may be as small as 2 CM or as large as 8 cm. That cyst can cause crampy pains early in pregnancy. The enlarging uterus can also cause crampy pains. Of course the only way to know that there is not a problem is to see you doctor and probably have an ultrasound exam.

In brief: No
Early pregnancy with sharp pelvic pain (especially if it's more on one side) can be a signal of an ectopic (tubal) pregnancy.
These are dangerous and if it were to rupture, can lead to hemorrhage and death. You need to call your doc asap or go to the nearest emergency room to rule this out.
