In brief: Cataract Surgery

Glasses usually can no longer correct vision after cataract becomes advance to 20/20.
After retinal surgery, the retinologist will indicate when the cataract can and should be removed: depending on risk factors, this can be a couple of weeks to a couple of months.

In brief: No

A cataract that needs surgery is usually not well corrected with glasses.
Surgery is the key, besides the cataract will still progress. Once the retinopexy scars are well formed the retina should be stable. Remember cataract surgery does increase the risk of retinal detachment, especially in near sighted people.
