In brief: Palliative care

I am very sorry to hear his condition.
Unfortunately, liver cancer is a very tough cancer to treat as it not very sensitive to the treatment. His cancer is very advanced and unfortunately incurable. The best recommendation perhaps is to make sure that he is comfortable with what he has- meaning- to make sure that he is pain free and able to get assistant to whatever symptoms he has now.

In brief: Talk to your docs

You paint a serious picture.
If the paralysis is complete, it is likely permanent. With spread thru the body, the tumor cannot be eliminated. Talk to your doctors and talk to your loved ones.

In brief: That does happpen

Unfortunately, cancer in the liver and local regions seems to lower the pain sensing appartus, so goes undetected longer. Bone metastatis will lead to spinal cord problems, as the tumor grows and usurps the blood flow to the cord.
