What precautions are used to prevent the spread of c. Difficile in the hospital?

C. diff. C. Difficile has become increasingly prevalent in the healthcare continuum including hospitals, rehabilitation facilities and skilled nursing homes. Unlike other bacteria and pathogens that are killed with alcohol lotions, foams and gels, c. Difficile is only eradicated with adequate hand-washing by health professionals and by family members who visit their loved ones in the hospital.
Isolation/disinfect. Contact isolation in a private room, terminal room disinfection and hand hygene with soap and water not hand sanitizers are the mainstays of c.Diff prevention.
