Do taking folic acid and biotin together help in the quality of egg released during ovulation while trying to get pregnant?
Folic Acid Important. Folic acid is extremely important for women trying to get pregnant. Taking 400 mcg of Folic Acid daily for at least 2 months before conception decreases the risk of neural tube defects such as spina bifida. Biotin is an important for cell growth, but we get enough without needing supplements. Folic acid & biotin are not going to change the "quality" of the egg itself.
No. While supplements are important during pregnancy to insure optimum nutrition to the growing fetus, the quality of the egg you produce is pre-determined by your genetics. You cannot control this with diet.
