Pap smears every 3 years from age 21 to 65 are recommended for women in general.
There are exceptions, such as if your uterus and cervix were removed for non-cancer reasons. Talk to your doctor or nurse practitioner to see what is right for you. And a good resource for proven prevention recommendations is an iphone app called my health checklist 2012.
