Are over-the-counter UTI test strips as accurate as the one done in the doctors office?

In brief: Yes and no

Otc strips show products that are present with red cells, white cells and bacteria.
They don't actually show infection or blood. To do this they need to do a cell count and culture and that has to be sent out. The otc strips are similar and when they are positive they are suggestive of uti. Be careful, blood in urine alone can be stone or bladder cancer. Get it checked.
