In brief: See below

The human body really does not appreciate having a needle pushed through it.
Frequently there is local inflammation or aching where the needle went in. Also your jaw was propped open during surgery, this is not normal and some of the muscles might object. This should get better over the next few hours to days. Nsaids should help.

In brief: Give It Time

This is not very common, but it does happen unfortunately.
Make sure you see your dentist periodically to monitor the situation. It should resolve itself within the month. Over the counter pain/inflammation meds should help a lot.

In brief: Deep cleaning pain

Deep cleaning can have residual pain and soreness for several weeks depending on how severe the subgingival inflammation and infectious processes were at the time of the cleaning.

In brief: Post inj Hematoma

This is an infrequent occurrence following an injection when a blood vessel accidentally gets punctured and there is an escape of blood into the surrounding tissue which causes what we call a hematoma.
Take NSAID otc pain medication such as advil, Motrin or aleve, (naproxen) stay on soft foods and give it some time. Warm rinses and external moist heat may help as well.

In brief: Contusion - Hematoma

Bleeding into the tissue can cause swelling, pain, soreness, and limited range of motion.
It will get better and things will normalize for you. Apply heat to area if external, but no real treatment except "tincture of time".
