In brief: Sometimes

A lot of time you feel nothing, but sometimes it can be very painful on the left upper part of the abdomen.
You can get fevers and chills too. A ct scan of the abdomen can confirm this diagnosis.

In brief: It may cause pain

It will depend on how massive the infraction is/how severe the process is.
If the spleen affected is large, you can have some abdominal discomfort/pain, perhaps low grade fever can also occur. Elevated white blood cell count is also frequently seen.
