In brief: Tarantula bite

Tarantulas are pretty gentle and very rarely bite.
That is one reason they are good pets. Very few people get tarantula bites.

Tarantulas rarely bite but they can cause problems when scared. They can shake hairs off their abdomen at the prospective threat and these can get into the eyes. These are called urticarial hairs and can cause a significant allergic reaction in the eyes and pain and need to be washed out ASAP.
