Is it normal for someone to have abdominal distension?

Abdominal distension. A distended abdomen is only normal during pregnancy or after an enormous meal. If persistent or recurrent, you are best served by a medical evaluation to localize what's swollen, and what can be done to fix it. This question was recently asked on healthtap, so i refer you to that answer which details the differential diagnosis of abdominal swelling, and what questions to expect from your doctor.

5months menses twice amonth, I made a ultrasaund, uterus, ovaries were normal. Papsmear didn't do. I have abdominal distension&gases. Doctor gave yasmin0, 03?

Regulation of bleed. With abnormal uterine bleeding like you have had,I'm glad you had an ulltrasound but I would still recommend going back for the pap smear as well to rule out cervical problems causing the bleeding. The Yasmin (drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol) will hopefully regulate your hormones and periods better if the hormones are the cause of your twice monthly periods in the next 3 months or so.Need to rule out cervix as the cause though. Younger ages do not have enough drop in estrogen to cause bleeding at ovulation. Low dose bcp will regulate your cycle, but take them at the same time each evening, not in the AM. Read more...
