In brief: Physical therapy
I suppose after a trauma, you get pain and difficulty moving your neck---can only be whiplash after evaluation for other things--see the doctor.

In brief: Many things
Heat and ice, nsaids or tylenol (acetaminophen) all can help.
If pain persists, i usually prescribe pt. Sometimes muscle relaxers or pain meds. In refractory cases, tens units, trigger point injections can help. Some people use chiropractic or accupuncture. May need MRI if pain present for several weeks or associated with arm or hand weakness or numbness.
