Rubella vaccination is an example of doing something for the public good that to prevent a disease thats not particularly bad for you.
Most of the time its not much worse than a mild flu.However, if you pass it to a pregnant lady, baby gets it.In that situation the disease can attack:eyes & blinds baby, ear nerve & cause deafness, brain & cause damage or just kills baby.Vaccination can prevent that.
