In brief: Common for ? cancer
Bladder biopsy is necessary in all cases of suspected or proven bladder tumors.
Suspected by abnormal appearing area/s or lesions in bladder lining. Necessary to make complete diagnosis when tumor is found by cystoscopy, ultrasound, ct or mri. Pathology of biopsy specimen helps to identify + grade type + severity of malignancy. As well as degree of invasion (stageing). Necessary to plan treatment.
