Supportive. Severe acute respiratory syndrome (sars) is a viral illness from the same family as some cold viruses. It can cause respiratory failure & death. There have been no cases since 2004.There is no cure; treatment is supportive, which includes maintaining blood pressure w fluids, maintaining good oxygen level (can require a ventilator), & keeping the patient going until the immune system fights it off.
What would be a good treatment in the future for SARS? A treatment that is kind of an innovative design... thanks!
