In brief: OCD Treatments

There are two therapeutic approaches to treating obsessive-compulsive disorder. A specific form of cognitive behavioral therapy, where one confronts their anxieties, can provide up to 100% symptom relief.
Ocd also responds well to treatment with ssri antidepressants. Fluoxetine, fluvoxamine, sertraline and paroxetine are effective. Combining both treatment options offers best prognosis.

In brief: Meds and therapy

Meds (usually antianxiety medications, but not always) combined with therapy with a clinician who specializes on OCD is the best combination to treat OCD, typically.
