There are genetic and environmental factors that persist throughout life, usually becoming evident in childhood. One learns to live with their asthma & present medications offer a near normal existence to most. There is no cure, there are programs that promote stability & reduced flare ups through early recognition of problems.

I agree with Dr. Ferguson. While asthma cannot be cured, it can be controlled, such that the vast majority of patients can lead full active lives.
