HIDA scan is easy. Hida scan is a common test by nuclear medicine. Hida is injected into blood, then is taken up by your liver & excreted into the bile ducts. If your gallbladder functions (is not sick), it will "light up" when it concentrates the hida material. Giving cck then allows measurement of gallbladder emptying time, patency of the bile ducts, & how effectively the hida material enters your small bowel.
