In brief: Medical systems

Homeopathy and allopathy are systems of medicine, not medications in themselves.
Allopathy means "other suffering" -- and refers to using treatments that cause effects different from those of the disease being treated. Homeopathy = "similar suffering" -- and uses minute quantities of medicines that would produce in a healthy person, symptoms similar to those of the disease. Please see comment.

The treatment of ovarian cysts differs depending on many factors, including the woman's age, family history of various cancers, previous illnesses, menstrual status, size of cyst, etc. Many cysts may resolve on their own, but examination by your physician (especially Gyn) is important, along with additional studies. Some require surgery, due to size, pain, and other symptoms. In non surgical cases Classical (single remedy at a time) Homeopathy may be very helpful, but requires careful case-taking with a professional homeopath to find a medicine (remedy) effective for you. There are MD & DO homeopaths who may help you -- you can find these through American Institute of Homeopathy [www.homeopathyusa.org] and many also through National Center for Homeopathy [www.nationalcenterforhomeopathy.org].

There are no studies showing homeopathy works for this.

Dear Dr. Bansal -- you might want to catch up in your reading before making such broad declarations. There are many studies showing the positive effects of homeopathy, in many conditions. Here's a starting list, and there are more: http://www.nationalcenterforhomeopathy.org/files/Research-in-Homoeopathy.pdf

In brief: Holistic approach

Allopathic medicine has little to offer for ovarian cysts except surgery in extreme cases & oral contraceptives which can prevent but don't address the cause.
Homeopathy can help-you need to find a good homeopath, but i also strongly advise a healthy diet, lifestyle changes & medicinal herbs-see http://natural-fertility-info.Com/ovarian-cyst-remedy for an excellent overview of a holistic approach.
