In brief: Antibody IgG IgM igA

Cardiolipin (phospholipid) abs r often ordered if stroke, deep vein thrombosis, low platelet counts, abnormal clotting, freq miscarriages, or autoimmune disorder is suspected.
Clinical picture is always the guide; (+) test can occur with infections or aging & mean nothing; neg test with clinical concern persisting--repeat in 6 weeks. If DX is anticardiolipin synd, chronic rx is anticoagulation.
