I'm bipolar. Although it does not prevent everyday life, the moods and unmanageable emotions make it harder. Is it worth seeking professional help?

In brief: Treatment Available

Bipolar disorder, a psychiatric condition characterized by episodes of depression and mania, can be devastating to patients and their families.
It can lead to loss of work, loss of relationships, and even loss of life (suicide). Treatment is available that can give patients back the ability to lead normal lives. Treatment includes several medication options as well as psychotherapies.

If your truly have bipolar disorder, which I cannot say from your description, the condition can get progressively worse without treatment. Some people can get by without medications but therapy can be helpful in combination with exercise and healthy diet and avoidance of drugs and alcohol. Its useful to have a therapist monitor your symptoms. We don't always see how bad we are doing.
