In brief: Possibly

An ovarian tumor is solid and will continue to grow.
However an ovarian cyst is from an egg cell that did not rupture. You may have pain, irregular bleeding or other symptoms with both, so you should see your gynecologist this week to rule it out.

"Tumor" is a nonspecific word that can refer either a benign new growth or a malignant new growth. Some "tumors" are cystic. Mass lesions of the ovaries can cause similar symptoms whether "tumors" or nontumorous cysts. Sometimes lab tests, clinical judgement, and ultrasonography in combination can determine the type of a lesion of the ovary without surgery. Other times a tissue biopsy or surgery is necessary to make a specific diagnosis.

In brief: Not really

Benign cysts are common but they are harmless as they typically do not grow in size.
If the cyst had a tumor inside it, then it will grow and the effects are much more grave than those from a cyst. So any growth in the size of a cyst is an indication that it should be further investigated and removed if ther eis suspicion that it might contain cancer inside it.
