In brief: Depends on the cause

Mouth ulcers can be caused by many different things, including infections and autoimmune diseases.
The most common causes are aphthous ulcers and type 1 herpes. You should be evaluated by your doctor and treated appropriately.

In brief: Mouth Ulcers

First you need to find out what type of mouth ulcers they are.
....After that, you can then find an appropriate therapy. It could be viral, bacterial, autoimmune, etc.... Get a diagnosis, then focus on treatment.

In brief: Canker sore cocktail

Rinse for 10 seconds with an equal mixture of maalox stomach medicine, liquid benadryl, (diphenhydramine) and chloroseptic sore throat medicine.
Next place a small amount of salt on your finger and hold it against the sore for ten seconds. Repeat 3-4 times a day. If you are prone to canker sores, your dentist or doctor can prescribe an anti-viral.

In brief: Canker Sores

Can be linked to problems with the body's immune defense system. The sores may occur after a mouth injury due to dental work, aggressive tooth cleaning, or biting the tongue or cheek.
They usually heal without any treatment in about two weeks or so. In office treatment we use debacterol, a medication containing 50% sulfonated phenolics and 30% sulfuric acid. They heal in two days. Dr. Use only.
