Some women also experience pelvic pressure or the need to empty their bladder frequently if the fibroids are pressing against the bladder. Other women suffer from constipation or back pain. Some fibroids cause no symptoms.

In brief: Uterine growths

Fibroids are benign growths of smooth muscle of the uterus.
They are not precancerous, however, they can cause symptoms. Some symptoms of fibroids include abdominal pain and heavy vaginal bleeding. They can be treated with hormonal medications or surgery if they are extremely bothersome.
