What's the definitive way to determine if these itchy bumps are mosquito bites or bed bug bites?

In brief: There are difference

Btwn mosquitoes & bed bugs.
Mosquitoes usually aren't out when it's really cold & they are often found outside in wooded areas. Bug beds live inside & thus are not impacted by the temperature. The itching from a mosquito bite starts right away & usually resolves w/in a few hrs. Bed bug bites may not itch but when they do it might take up to several days for this to occur. always occur. Bites are usually in areas that are exposed while sleeping-arms, shoulders, neck & legs.

mosquito bite or bites can be sporadically located whereas bed bug bites can be linear due to sequential feedings. Bed bug bites may cause no sx's/signs in some except for 2 small points where skin was punctured by bedbug. Bites are usually in areas that are exposed while sleeping-arms, shoulders, neck & legs.

In brief: Check bed linens

Check you bed linens. Mosquitos are far more likely to be the cause.
