What to do if I have low vitamin d levels so is it okay to take these supplements?

What supplements? I have no idea what you are asking but I do advise everyone who is low in vit d to take vitamin d3 5-8000 iu/day as well as 5-10, 000 iu of vit. A and 1 mg of vit k, as they work synergistically. As for any other supplements, i don't know what you are asking but low d should generally not cause problems taking most other supplements.

I read people with UCTD who have low vitamin D levels more likely to progress to defined disease. Do supplements reduce chances of UCTD progressing?

Why do you ask? This question can't be answered, and anything you read online is at best "pop" impressions. Nobody even has criteria for "undifferentiated connective tissue disease" that everybody agrees on. If you're vitamin D deficient, and a great many people are, for everybody's sake take a sensible supplement. This common deficiency accounts for much of the bone pain that folks may think is CTD. Vitamin D 25-OH. level of 23 is technically insufficient- over 30 is preferred. Depending on what other symptoms or medical problems exist, the best way to boost your low Vitamin D with SUPPLEMENTS is either with daily Vitamin D3 (Cholecalciferol) 1,000-3,000 IU or weekly Vitamin D2 (Ergocalciferol) 50,000. I have a vitamin d deficiency. When will supplements take effect?

Quicker with more. Studies of post menopausal women suggest that 800IU of vitamin D3 will correct a vitamin D deficiency in one year. Taking more will correct it more quickly. I usually suggest 2000IU daily. Read more...

Vitamin D Deficiency, level 14. Taking 50, 000iu once per week for 12 weeks. I am on the 8th week and I lost my supplements. Is missing a day bad?

Not bad, but stop D2. 50,000iu/week of Vit D is reasonable. It would be safe to continue this indefinitely. However, I strongly advise taking only Vit D3,not D2 Usually the 50,000 iu dose is the prescription form (D2) which is actually dangerous! See http://tinyurl.com/6wx4ujl I advise stopping D2. Take 5-8000iu of D3/day. I also ask you to share this info with the prescribing Dr. as they must be unaware of the hazard. Read more...
