Common duct stone
The liver makes bile
, the gallbladder stores it, and the common bile duct drains it into the intestine
Sometimes a stone from the gallbladder ends up in the common duct, or less commonly, a stone forms there after the gallbladder is removed. Depending on the presence or absence of the gallbladder, treatment may be surgical or primarily by gastroenterologists, or a combination of both.
