Can MRI scan detect depression?

Answer via Questions. We rely on the answers people give to questions about their thoughts, emotions and behaviors to determine whether (a) they have symptoms of depression; (b) how many they have; & (c) how severe each is/how much each interferes w/ person's ability 2 function day 2 day. Standard MRI machines produce great still shots of the brain but those pics don't show depression or what someone is thinking, etc.
