Bdd is a condition in which a person becomes fixated on one or more body parts as being "defective" or "imperfect" to the point that it interferes with the ability to function in other parts of life.
It's an extreme of what many of us may feel--nose too large, penis or breast too small, face to ugly--that can lead to depression, anxiety, and even self-injury trying "fix" the problem.

it is also irrational in that the imperfection is in the eye of the individual and not commonly thought of by others.
