In brief: Severe abdomed pain

Uncommon. Sudden onset severe abdominal pain after severe blow or crushing injury in presence of a full bladder.
Referred shoulder pain can also be present. Bladder is then usually empty + no urine if subject attempts to void. Classically result of a steering wheel injury. Needs urgent attention. Diagnosed by cystogram xray. Patients after bowel bladder replacement or enlargement are more prone.
