In brief: Rapid mood swings
Bpd is a long-term inability to manage strong emotions, coupled with lack of a stable sense of self.
Sensitivity to abandonment/rejection, self-harming behavior (suicide gestures), black/white thinking ("splitting"), & fast mood swings are common. Long-term psychotherapy is often difficult but very helpful, & sometimes medications can help treat symptoms of overwhelming feelings in the meantime.
