My 3 yr old boy gets rash near his anus when he gets sick. He tested positive for strep there 3 months ago. Antibiotic cream helps. What should we do?

In brief: Check with doctor
Just as you can have strep throat, it can also cause a perirectal infection.
In that situation, an oral antibiotic may be needed. Because the area around the rectum stays warm and moist and is often irritated, rashes can be due to a variety of causes. If he gets it often, i would check with his doctor for further advice.
