In brief: platelet count

Normal platelet count--varies with the lab--is usually 150, 000 to 450, 000.
Though the 128, 000 and later 118, 000 are lower than the stated normal range, they represent safe levels. The other parts of your blood count are important to know in order to understand if they are normal. Sometimes a virus or immune problem may cause a lower platelet count. Your physician may send you to a blood doctor.
