In brief: Yes

Then the question becomes "is the pain actually a muscle pull?" if your chest hurts after vomiting, it could be due to acid in the esophagus or other gi/cardiac problem. If your left upper abdomen hurts, are you vomiting due to an ulcer? Then, the pain is not a muscle pull.
Call your doctor to review your symptoms.

In brief: Musles & Vomiting

Vomiting is the body's way of trying to get rid of a noxious substance in your stomach.
The effect of the toxic substance getting into your blood stream is to trigger a center in the brain that sends the signal to your stomach to vomit, which is felt as nausea. The actual vomiting requires forceful contraction of the anterior abdominal muscles and the diaphragm, either of which can be sprained.
