In brief: Deconditioning?

Your neuromusculature is already vulnerable; after surgery you likely needed more rehabilitation than you received.
See a physiatrist (physical medicine and rehabilitation specialist) or neurologist to see what resources your community has for you. They may perform an emg, which is painful, but would help further establish a diagnosis.
