To quote michael pollan, "eat (real) food, not too much, mostly plants.
" avoid processed foods. Eat plenty of fruits, veggies, and whole grains, which have fiber in them. Fiber is probably the most important thing for your bowels. Also try limiting animal protein, and eat several meat free meals per week.

Be sure to drink 80-100 oz of caffeine free/alcohol free fluid everyday.
If you eat hi fiber and dont drink enough fluid you will bloat, have lots of gas and may even get constipated so watch the fluid just as much as the fiber intake.
