I have always had extremely long periods (~3 weeks) on a short cycle (~25 days). Birth control takes down to ~1.5-2 weeks. Ideas to control better?

In brief: Too Long!

You poor dear! 3 weeks is a painfully long period and 1-2 weeks is also very long.
Talk to you doctor about depo-provera or a higher estrogen component. More seriously--what is triggering your long periods? This needs a work-up, especially to make sure you are not anemic or have a bleeding disorder.
