Something not right. Did you have any trauma/surgery to your foot? Are you involved in any high intensity/prolonged sports activities? Did you hurt your back? Shooting/throbbing pain just sitting there suggests either neuropathic (nerve pain such as morton neuroma) or vascular (in adequate blood--as in blood clot). I would have it . Evaluated as there are many possibilities from a neuropathy as you mention shooting pain, a tendonitis as it travels. The fact it is throbbing generally connotates some degree of swelling. The fact, you can't walk implies pain is severe. See your foot doc or orthopod. Read more...
