In brief: Coital bleeding

Bleeding during intercourse is abnormal but causes can be as benign as dryness or can relate to std like gonorrhea or chlamydia.
Benign growths like polyps can bleed and of course, cancer of the cervix or vagina can bleed with intercourse. Only a thorough vaginal exam can discern the cause of bleeding.
