You are describing the sensation called itching (pruritis), which briefly feels better when u rub or scratch it, then forming breaks in the skin that become scabs.
This becomes excoriated dermatitis. Causes include allergy to something touched, inhaled or eaten; could be scabies or anxiety; often never found.Try not to scratch, put moisturizing lotion on area. If not gone in 1-2 wks, c gp/skin doc.
