Could be serious. If you're established with an obstetrician, call them now. Spotting is not unusual but severe stomach pain is abnormal. Go to an er if ou can't get a hold of your doctor.
Should be seen. Not knowing how far along you are it could change the picture but in anycase the only way of knowing what is happening, is to be checked. In the first few weeks after conception there is risk of miscarrraiges, mole pregnancy, blieghted ovums or it could all be normal need to be seen by the physican so proper evaluation and treatment can be done.
You need to be seen. Severe abdominal pain in pregnancy is serious. You should be seen immediately, as you may be miscarrying, or have an ectopic/tubal pregnancy.

See a doctor! Spotting can be a normal finding in early pregnancy but if you're having pain you must be evaluated asap. You may have an ectopic (tubal) pregnancy or be having a miscarriage.
Spotting. Spotting and pain can happen in early pregnancy as the pregnancy is trying to implant itself in the uterus. However, you should be aware that if it is persistent and getting worse, you can either be having a miscarriage or a pregnancy outside of the uterus. It is always good to let your doctor know about it.
Read my answer. Spotting at the beginning of the pregnancy is not uncommon. Severe menstrual cramps is not a good sign. It can mean that your uterus is contracting heavily or it means that your bowells are irritated and causing pain. What you need to know is that you can take tylenol (acetaminophen) for those cramps. Also if you start bleeding heavily I recommend to go to hospital and see your doctor.
Miscarriage symptoms. Many women who end up having normal pregnacies experience spotting and cramping, however these may also be early signs of a possible miscarriage. A tubal or ectopic pregnacy is also a possibility, which is a serious condition. Although there is rarely any form of medical treatment for miscarriage once it has begun, you should see a doctor shortly for an ultrasound to verify what is going on.
