Does it take longer than a year to get pregnant after years of birth control use?

In brief: It shouldn't.

80-90% of couples having regular intercourse (2 or more times per week) will become pregnant in one year. If after a year you have not become pregnant, you might consider seeing a fertility specialist to determine the cause.
Past birth control use does not affect future fertility. Good luck!
