In brief: Nasal saline drops
Nasal saline drops are the best remedy.
Mix 1/4 tsp non-iodized or kosher salt, 1/8 tsp baking soda, and one cup of warm water (same as body temperature). Stir to dissolve the salt and baking soda completely. Fill a clean, sanitized bulb syringe with a small amount of the solution and put a few drops in each nostril. The leftover solution can be stored for up to 24 hr in a clean container.
