Are the dailies contacts supposed to be better for the eyes as far as dryness goes? I know they're cleaner but as far as comfort goes?

In brief: Yes
I do find daily contacts to be more helpful for dry eye patients.
There are also other contact lens types that may be more comfortable for a dry eye patient. Discuss with your eye doctor your options.

In brief: Contacts
Theoretically you form less deposits w dailies which can lead to more comfortable wear. Although acuvue oasis and air optix are both comfortable contacts.
Sometimes you can replace these a week earlier or decrease wearing time and this can improve the comfort significantly if you were having problems to start w. Rewetting drops are important too for dryness.
