In brief: Best to wait
After having a baby, it is best to wait about two years to become pregnant again.
This will give your body time to recuperate. Spacing out your children will also make things easier for you not having two babies at home!

In brief: Pregnancy intervals
I read a study suggesting that the optimal interval between siblings is about 18 months.
This makes sense if one thinks about when a woman would become pregnant without contraception, with an approximate nine month delay after delivery due to natural forces inhibiting conception due to breast feeding. Check with your OB for more information.

In brief: Waiting x 2nd baby
If you did not have complications during pregnancy a suggested ideal wait period may be 2 to 3 years ( at least one)but in reality the uterus and the body goes back to pre-pregnancy state in several months after delivery.
